Centre Communications began serving the two-way radio needs of the Central Pennsylvania business community in 1987, operating out of a small apartment in Lemont, just minutes from State College. Founded through the purchase and merger of two local companies, the business was built by individuals who shared a clear vision: to grow a strong, customer-focused communications company.

Customers quickly recognized the commitment to solving real communication challenges, and word spread throughout Centre County and surrounding areas. This early growth led to a relocation in 1988 to a 5,000-square-foot facility just outside of Bellefonte.

Over the following years, Centre Communications expanded its two-way radio offerings to include trusted manufacturers such as Kenwood and Motorola, along with a full range of accessories. Continued investment in high-quality equipment, combined with a dedication to listening closely to customer needs, allowed the company to grow consistently year after year.

The year 2000 marked a significant milestone. Centre Communications acquired its third business, Telcom Electronics of Ebensburg, located in the heart of Cambria County. This expansion strengthened our regional presence and allowed us to better serve customers across a broader area. Later that year, construction of our new headquarters was completed, and we welcomed the start of 2001 in our new 10,000-square-foot facility.

Our success is owed to the many customers who have trusted us to design and support their communication systems. Their continued confidence has allowed us to grow while staying true to our original mission.
